Once cockroaches infest a home, they often are rarely seen. Cockroaches are nocturnal and also tend to hide. Remember that they increase in numbers very fast. Chances are, if you see one or two, there may be a hundred more that you have not seen yet. They can live up to a month with little or no food, but can also survive by eating book bindings, furniture glue, soap, dead insects, shoe linings, and more.
Spiders are generally good to have around because they help to minimize the population of harmful insects. The problem arises, however, when they negatively affect humans. The mere sight of a spider can be a real scare for some people. Some spiders are poisonous and deadly such as the Brown Recluse and Black Widow Spider; so it is a good idea to have us treat your home for spiders.
Rodents can carry up to thirty-five diseases that humans are susceptible to, which is another reason to get rid of them as soon as possible. Cleaning up after a rodent infestation also requires a great deal of caution. This is necessary because of the possibility of fleas or mosquitoes - which can also bring those diseases indirectly to you, your children, or your pets. There is also a danger involved if you stir up the dust of their nest and breathe in some of the bacteria that cause illness and disease such as:
- Hantavirus- is a deadly disease transmitted by infected rodents through urine, droppings, or saliva
- Rat-bite Fever, and
Rodents can also damage your home or business, too. They can chew through some types of siding and other building materials, and are well known to chew on electrical lines; thus, increasing the possibility of a fire. Removing rodents can be difficult, but we are experts who can do all the work for you. This includes identifying their nesting areas, their feeding places, and knowing how to eliminate them from your property. Proper cleanup is also performed, too, ensuring that you and your family are safe from possible future problems.
Stinging insects are usually one of the highest concerns for home and business owners. The dangers with bees and wasps make them a priority when they are discovered. Wasps build their nests on the outside of homes, in attics, on bushes, trees, sheds, outdoor play equipment, and even in the ground. Bees can build large hives in the exterior wall of homes, in attics and trees and usually require the hive to be removed to gain control.
Ant infestations are the most common pest problem. Ants often enter a home or business through cracks around windows or doors, but they can find numerous entrances to your home or building. Once inside, the growing ant colony can become a problem quickly, as ants mature from juveniles to adults within a matter of days. These tiny scavengers will enter your home or business looking for moisture and an accessible food source. Sometimes, rotting or damp wood that has mold damage can also attract ants. These tiny insects also feed on sugar, cheese, meats, vegetables, grease, peanut butter, and dead insects.
Snakes are usually classified as a pest species due to people's fear of the animal. The most common complaints include the following:
- Snakes in yard or on property
- Snakes living under home or deck
- Snakes in the swimming pool
- Snakes inside the home
- Concern for safety of pets
For these reasons, many people wish to have this nuisance reptile removed.
